On Saturday April 7th the annual SABROSO Craft Beer, Taco & Music Festival took place at Doheny Beach in Dana Point, California. The festival that combines craft beer, tacos and punk rock music was sold out again this year. Over 8,000 attendees came to the beach to enjoy craft beer, tacos, and live entertainment by the oceanfront. As in the past year over 150 breweries set up their boots and were offering free beer samples to attendees. In addition there was also a wide variation of delicious tacos, where even vegan tacos were offered. Until 4 p.m. attendees could taste unlimited samples of the more than 200 craft beer tastings. For the sampling little shot glasses were provided.
Next to beer also custom cocktails were offered, which were quite popular as the queues were long. Despite the many people, everyone was relaxed and enjoyed themselves and even the sun came out for a while on this mostly cloudy day.
The stage was facing the ocean and attendees were sitting between the palm trees, while eating tacos and drinking beer and enjoying the musical performances of Me First and The Gimme Gimmes, The Vandals, Pennywise and Headliner The Offspring.
One of the highlights of the festival was the Gringo Bandito Chronic Tacos professional taco eating contest. In the past year, Takeru Kobayashi of Nagano, Japan had eaten 159 Tacos in 10 minutes, setting a new world record. This year Takeru Kobayashi was crowned winner again, but failed to break his own record.
