Die VANS US Open Of Surfing kehren 2022 wieder zurück nach Huntington Beach. Das Event am Huntington Beach Pier wird vom 30 Juli bis 7 August statt finden und aus den folgenden Wettbewerben bestehen:

VANS BMX Waffle Cup (29-31 Juli)

Vans feiert die BMX-Community bei den diesjährigen US Open mit dem Vans BMX Waffle Cup. Der Vans BMX Waffle Cup wurde mit Unterstützung der BMX-Community gestaltet und wird das diesjährige Vans US Open of Surfing-Wochenende eröffnen.

Men’s & Women’s Challenger Series (30 Juli– 7 Aug)

Die Challenger Series ist ein Wettbewerb, bei dem Surfer gegeneinander antreten, um sich für die Elite Championship Tour (CT) zu qualifizieren. Junge Talente sowie hungrige Veteranen des Surfens werden gegeneinander antreten, um sich einen Platz im CT zu sichern.

Vans Duct Tape Invitational (30 Juli – 7 Aug)

Als zweite Station der Longboard Tour 2022 wird das VANS Duct Tape Invitational im Rahmen der Saison mit drei Events 5.000 Punkte im WSL Longboard World Title Race vergeben. Diese Veranstaltung wird eine wichtige Rolle im Rennen um den Longboard-Weltmeistertitel spielen, das zur letzten Veranstaltung in Malibu führt, den Longboard-Weltmeisterschaften, die vom 3. bis 13. Oktober 2022 stattfinden.

VANS Showdown (5-7 Aug)

Der Vans Showdown kehrt zurück; ein Skateboard Wettbewerb, bei dem die relevantesten Streetskater aus der ganzen Welt teilnehmen. Das diesjährige Event-Artwork wurde von Todd Francis und Mike Gigliotti erstellt. VANS wird alle Baumaterialien im Rahmen des Skatepark-Projekts wiederverwenden, um sie für einen aktuellen Parkbau in Südkalifornien zu spenden.

Vans Public Sessions at US Open (1-2 Aug)

VANS freut sich wieder öffentliche Skate- und BMX-Sessions für alle Altersgruppen anbieten zu können. 50 Personen können pro Session am Montag, den 1. August und Dienstag, den 2. August im Vans Skatepark südlich des HB-Piers skaten. Für alle Teilnehmer besteht Helmpflicht. Teilnehmer unter 12 Jahren benötigen außerdem Ellbogen- und Knieschützer. Hier geht es zur Anmeldung.

VANS BMX Waffle Cup (29-31 July)
Vans looks to continue its ongoing support and celebration of the BMX community at this year’s US Open during the Vans BMX Waffle Cup. The Vans BMX Waffle Cup was crafted with input from the BMX community and will kick off this year’s Vans US Open of Surfing weekend as an inclusive event platform where culture meets competition.

Men’s & Women’s Challenger Series (30 July – 7 Aug)
The Challenger Series is the battleground where surfers compete to qualify for the elite Championship Tour (CT), surfing’s most prestigious competition tier. Across the eight-event series, promising young talents and hungry veterans will face off in world-class waves for their shot to earn a spot on the CT.

Vans Duct Tape Invitational (30 July – 7 Aug)
The VANS Duct Tape Invitational will be the second stop on the 2022 Longboard Tour. The Longboard competition will host 20 surfers for the men’s division and 20 surfers for the women’s division. As the second stop on the 2022 Longboard Tour, the VANS Duct Tape Invitational will award 5,000 points in the WSL Longboard World Title race as part of the three-event season. This event will play a major role in the Longboard World Title race leading up to the final event in Malibu, the Longboard World Championships, which will be held during October 3 – 13, 2022.

VANS Showdown (5-7 Aug)
The Vans Showdown returns to Huntington Beach as a contest where culture overrides competition and will feature all of the most relevant street skaters from around the world. This year’s event artwork was created by Todd Francis and Mike Gigliotti and VANS will be repurposing all build materials through the Skatepark Project to donate towards an current park build in Southern California.

Vans Public Sessions at US Open
VANS is excited to once again offer all ages public skate and BMX sessions for the local community. With a limited capacity of 50 people per session, these sessions will be for Monday August 1st and Tuesday August 2nd. Check In for each session will be at the Vans Skatepark south of the HB pier. Helmets are required for all participants. Participants under 12 will also need elbow and knee pads.
